Arrived to find Adrian already zooming around on his 92l/5.3m. A few people out, but gloomy rainy weather obviously putting people off! Rigged up, changed downhaul before it broke!
Pretty gusty conditions, but good learning experience. Slight swell, serious chop when the wind got up. A bit slow on the gybe front initially, but warmed to the task and made lots, albeit none planing (getting fussy now!!). Other people from OMWC came out, Nick, when Sarah arrived, Jon L, Carl, and the mystery guy I've seen at Hayling a few times, red Escort estate, Skate with a mended nose. Fantastically exhilarating, zooming across the chop with rain slashing at the face, occasionally jumping, trying to relax the hands as much as possible - a good thing to be doing generally. Must read up about hand movement and other tips for improving stance etc, would be good to practice these! Gybes - getting more committed, but still need to be more so, becaue they actually work easily when I do, also need to flip rig earlier rather than being a barely interested bystander!!
All in all a really good session, about 3 hours before I got tired and a bit cold.
